A two-day parish mission led by Fr Ken Geraci. Night one will focus on Divine Mercy and night two will be a healing service. Each night will be centered on Eucharistic Adoration, a presentation by Fr. Ken, with confessions available. Fr. Ken has a great understanding of the personal and societal pressures that individuals face and knows what it is like to “hate coming to church.” His mission talks are for people of all levels of faith; from those who are madly in love with Jesus to those who struggle with church and religion.

Fr Ken is joined the Fathers of Mercy in 2006 and was ordained in 2012. The Fathers of Mercy are a religious order who specialize as preachers and confessors. Traveling across the globe to preach the mercy of God to lead people into an encounter with Christ, leading them to repentance, hearing their confessions and encouraging them to be sent as missionaries for Christ. 

Night 1: Divine Mercy & Spiritual Warfare

Life is a challenge, there are the ups and downs of this life and we can find ourselves feeling defeated. But when we look to the Christ crucified, it's not a sign of defeat, rather it is our sure sign of victory. While we are not automatic winners in this, we are offered through the Paschal Sacrifice the fruits of that victory, peace, mercy, love, joy, life everlasting. How are we to participate and be united to this today? 

When going into battle, a warrior must have the greatest armor and the most effective weapons to accomplish his ends. The same principle applies to each of us engaging in this spiritual war. We want to be protected, but also to be able to attack with swift and decisive blows to subdue the wicked foe. Remember Jesus’s words to Saint Faustina, “Fight like a knight” (Diary 1760).

When we pray the Chaplet, we find ourselves not only united to Jesus’s perfect sacrifice but also united with the Blessed Virgin Mary, who stood at the foot of the cross (see Jn 19:25). 

Night 2: Healing Service

In our brokenness we can seek to dismiss or distract ourselves from the inner healing that we need while seeing the brokenness in others. In this need for inner healing we often face the hurdle of a hardened heart that is bound by a sprit of unforgiveness that can inhibit our reception of God's grace and mercy in our own heart. 

We hear a lot about forgiveness in the Gospels. Forgiveness is a virtue to be practiced and cultivated over time. Jesus told us that we must forgive our brother not seven times, but seventy times seven—that is, every time.

But sometimes, you don’t want to forgive. Or, you only want to forgive about 95%, and you need to go a little further to forgive that last 5%. This is where the “dirty work” of forgiveness begins and where the Lord is ready to meet us with his healing grace. This night will be all about seeking healing through forgiveness. This is a core aspect of our journey through life as we steep ourselves in the healing mercy of Christ and through that shine that light into the lives of our family, friends and the world. 

Fr. Ken Geraci, CPM, lived the life of the prodigal son for most of his young adult life. Raised in a nominally Catholic family, who only lived the externals of the faith, Fr. Ken left the Catholic Church for many years. During that time he earned a business degree and worked as a business profession in Advanced R&D and software testing; a few years into his career he joined a few of his co-workers in establishing a $4.5 million Internet software company. Focused on money, fitness, and success, he made little room for God; but God did not give up on him. During this journey, God presented him with challenges that forced him to question his personal beliefs and the question “What is Truth?” Through a series of conversions, years of struggle, study and questioning, Fr. Ken found his way from agnosticism, to non-denominational Christianity, and ultimately back to the Catholic Church.

Fr. Ken joined the Fathers of Mercy in 2006 and was ordained in 2012. For two years, he served as an associate pastor of a medium sized parish and currently serves as a Missionary, webmaster and Mission Director for the Fathers of Mercy. Fr.
