“When I was in prison, you came to visit me…”
How can I help?
This ministry is to provide encouragement and goodwill to those individuals in correctional institutions by developing a friendly spiritual relationship through letter correspondence. The man or woman who you will be writing to is a prison oblate of St. Benedict and as such he has made a promise to live out the “Rule of St. Benedict” to the best of his circumstances, to pray the liturgy of the hours and the rosary. We are trying to live up to Jesus’ message in Matthew 25: “When I was in prison, you came to visit me…”
For a more complete understanding of this program, please review the documents below and contact Sr. Odilia-Thérèse (913) 402-3919 for additional information. (Live from Harding Prison)

Lord God Almighty,
You are the creator and giver of life and truth. We thank you for the opportunity to share the Gospel, the Good News, with our incarcerated brothers and sisters. We pray that we will be increasingly receptive to the Holy Spirit to use us as instruments of your peace, reconciliation and relationship made ever-present through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. We lift up the prayers and petitions of our brothers & sisters in Christ expressed in the confines of their cells. Hear their cry for mercy and provide for them a spirit of faith, hope and love that will enable them to break free from the bondage of sin. With your grace, may they come to know and accept your holy will and respond with open hearts.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
